The PR34 House resembles a ballet dance, displaying two bodies in motion. The looping sensual forms change angles coming out of every curve.

Located in Tecamachalco, in the State of México, on a hillside overlooking Bosques de Reforma, an existing house built in the late 1960’s required a renovation and an extension.

The client bought the house because of its distribution, the existing house was carefully cleaned out, creating bigger and better areas. Besides that, a new program was added: an independent apartment for the clients’ daughter.

Inside the garage there are two separate entrances, providing complete independence to the addition which is accessed through a spiral staircase going up two flights.

The apartment consists of two half levels: the first contains the kitchen, dining, and living area; a half flight down, the TV room and the master bedroom. Taking advantage of the roof of the existing house and its skylights, the roof becomes a terrace built with the remaining chipped lava rocks used for the main wall of the house.

The skylights become acrylic stools, benches, and chaise lounges that change color with an LED lighting system. A selection of pre-Hispanic plants adds a touch of vegetation giving this area a lunar feel.
