Because of its strategic location and new pedestrian bridge connections to existing developments to the north and east, the new shopping mall links parts of the city that where fragmented by the highway allowing economical, cultural and social exchanges between the two poles.
The journey begins with a pedestrian “street” 9 meters wide that surrounds the complex and ramps up gently through a kilometer of gardens, commercial spaces, bicycle paths and cultural and office spaces. The journey, sheltered from the elements and always visually connected to the city, culminates in an 11,400 m2 urban park located at the roof of the building.
The ramping street as an extension of the city is an ideal venue for local talent to showcase their work and offer their products. Local trades of the kind you would find in the public plazas downtown also find a space here as do workshops and craft fairs.
The urban park houses a variety of amenities for the residents of Querétaro that include sports areas, children playground, skate board ring, running track, amphitheater, gardens, restaurants, city information stands and flexible areas for community interest events.
The perimeter journey also includes a forum with a capacity of 350 people. A central atrium with a large garden completes the outdoor feel.
It is expected that the forum and park function as a platform for social and cultural events that add to the variety offered by the city of Querétaro.
